Showing up empty-handed is not an option

Hearing my words of wisdom, family and friends know without any doubt I will not be showing up on my host’s doorstep with just a smile and a handshake. No thank you. Whether a batch of cookies, linen napkins, candle, fresh herbs or small bud vase there isn’t a reason on the planet not to show your appreciation for the effort your host has undertaken to entertain. And don’t you want to be invited back?

My fab go-to hostess gifts work for any occasion, any type of person. I may adjust and tweak brands, depending on what is au courant but categories stay about the same.

 

#1 Le Feu De L’Eau Candle

Year after year, when I had my retail store,  continuously hunting for the next best candle line – unique, beautiful scents seemingly an easy task became increasingly difficult as availability exploded with internet sites popping up everywhere. Well, a bit late to the party but I came across this line while on a recent trip to LA and have to say, LOOOOOVE it and I think you will too.  

 

Jo Strettell and Wendy Polish have been friends since 1998. With their knowledge of art, beauty & fragrance they created a high-end candle line called LE FEU DE L’EAU, which translates as The Fire Of The Water. In my book, you can never have enough cool unique vessels for whatever purpose you please. I love the irregularity of this one by Cloth and Goods.

#5 Coffee Table Books from Amber Interiors

Extra special if you know your hosts’ preferences and likes. Impressionism, architecture or cooking are all good areas to explore even if you don’t know specifics of their taste.
